A1S Group's fire curtain CPD validated by the Institution of Fire Engineers

A1S Group, the UK manufacturer and installer of fire curtains, smoke curtains and fire shutters, has received CPD validation from the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) for its seminar, The Functionality, Design and Compliance of Fire and Smoke Curtains.

The validation means fire professionals attending the seminar can log one hour of formally validated CPD with the IFE, and confirms the seminar has met the IFE’s quality standards for industry-relevant training.

Founded in 1918, the IFE is the internationally recognised professional body for fire engineers, with more than 16,000 members worldwide. Its validation service provides independent, third-party evaluation of training to ensure it develops the knowledge and competency the fire sector demands. For architects, fire engineers and specifiers choosing where to spend limited CPD time, IFE validation is an assurance that the content has been benchmarked against those standards.

The seminar gives specifiers the working knowledge to specify fire and smoke curtains with confidence. It covers how fire curtains function and where they are used, what the E, EW and Sa performance classifications mean, and what BS 8524:2025 and BS EN 16034 each cover. Sessions run live monthly on Microsoft Teams and are also delivered privately for practices and project teams.

Mark Thornton, Head of Sales and Marketing at A1S Group, said: “We’re pleased to have the IFE’s stamp of approval. Fire engineers look closely at our products when reviewing fire strategies, so it matters that we can now offer them comprehensive, independently validated CPD on fire curtains. The seminar teaches rather than sells, and the IFE’s validation reflects that.”

Places on upcoming sessions can be booked at https://a1sgroup.com/cpd, or practices can request a private session by contacting info@a1sgroup.com or calling 01204 383 839.
