We hold over 50 distinct test documents from WarringtonFire with third party accreditation for manufacture and installation, from International Fire Consultants for fire curtains. Our manufacture and installations are regularly audited and inspected by third party organisations. Couple this with our longevity in the sector, (we have been trading since 1988), it is little wonder that we are the first point of call for planned preventative maintenance, repairs, or replacement of fire and smoke curtains and fire shutters.

A1S Group’s Service and Maintenance Check-List

Planned preventative maintenance is in accordance with our recommendations and comprises the following key tasks:

Monthly testing that the client should do:

✔️ Ensure service staff have received training from A1S Group.

✔️ Check that all curtains are free of obstructions within their descent path.

✔️ Check that there have been no additions to walls or surfaces in the vicinity or in the descent path, which could interfere with the curtain deployment.

✔️ Operate all units from the Control Unit(s).

✔️ Ensure all curtains deploy to their Fire Operational position.

✔️ Visually inspect curtains for signs of damage.

✔️ Reset system and ensure all curtains retract to their fire ready position.

✔️ Enter test time, date, and inspectors name on record sheet.

✔️ Report any operational difficulties or failures to A1S Group immediately.

Bi-yearly inspection by A1S Group engineer only:

✔️ Repeat the monthly testing tasks

✔️ Check condition of all bottom bars, and their interface with the ceiling.

✔️ Check operation of curtains under “Power and Gravity Fail Safe” modes.

✔️ Inspect integrity of all curtains in the down position, for tears, snagging, stitching etc.

✔️ Check correct operation of all LEDs at all controls.

✔️ Check mechanical action in the side guides etc. (where applicable).

✔️ Check additional controls operational (where applicable).

✔️ Indicate alarm signal source.

✔️ Visual inspection of all wiring, connections, and control equipment for evidence of damage, wear, interference etc.

✔️ Battery Load Test

✔️ DC signal voltage test

✔️ Charger card output check

✔️ Ascent load amps check

✔️ Complete inspection report and issue to client.

✔️ Video/Photograph Curtain Drop Test, Curtain Open, Curtain Deploy, Curtain Close for internal A1S Group records

Caution: 230V ac input voltage. Qualified personnel to BS 7671. IEE Regulations only.

Important Information

Our Flameshield fire and smoke curtain range is installed as 'Life Protecting Equipment' in accordance with the overall Smoke & Fire Engineering of any Building and therefore must be maintained by qualified personnel on a regular basis. This is a legal requirement under the 2005 Regulatory Reform Order.

Please note: Components are closed protocol and any part replacement must be from certified A1S Group stock parts.
