The automatic fire curtain comprise of a mild steel barrel and motors incorporating the attached curtain. The product runs within the guidelines of BS 8524’s velocity guidelines of 0.15m/2 and 0.06m/2. Because the UK smoke leakage test of BS 1634-3 is for vertical elements only, smoke seals are not available for this product and the product is marketed for integrity and radiation only. The Horizontal Fire Curtain fabric is formed from a fire rated fabric 0.54mm stainless steel wire reinforced and specially formulated aluminium pigmented fire retardant polymer, which provides a heat reflecting surface as well as other fire properties. The system benefits from a battery back up and the system will move to its operational position before depletion of battery on receipt of a critical signal.

The system benefits from the following certification. Warrington WF 358994 to BS 1634-1. The Flameshield Horizontal achieved 120 minutes integrity against flaming and hot gases and achieved an industry leading 30 minutes radiation at 15 kw/m2. The product also benefits from Warrington Report WF 378038 which allows extended sizes to 36 m2. As a guide A1S will not manufacture a horizontal fire curtain with dimensions in excess of 3.00 wide whether north to south or east to west. Our maximum length of run is 12 metres.
