Planning to increase market share for the A1S Group in Saudi Arabia began in early 2019 and the company hopes to equal its 25% UK market share by the end of 2024. This marketing strategy became obvious for us when we assessed the scale of some of the iconic construction projects planned to include Neom, Jeddah Tower, The Red Sea Project, Amaala, Ad Diriyah and Qiddiya Entertainment City. The A1S Group is particularly keen to be involved with the manufacture of fire rated shutters with forthcoming construction on Riyadh Metro, as we have considerable experience with specialist fire shutters for the London Underground, UK Crossrail and the Doha metro.

A1S Group Flameshield Fire Curtains Installed Within Maad Towers Complex IN Saudi Arabia
The Maad Hospitality Towers in Meccah is a 21 building mega-project covering 48,260 m2. The buildings are mixed use, but particularly designed to provide high quality accommodation for pilgrims during Hajj. Collaborating with local installation partners, A1S were delighted to secure the contract for manufacture of 35 Flameshield 1634B fire curtains.

The curtain systems benefits from 24 volt Gravity Fail Safe Motors, 2 Stage controlled descent, split drop delay, battery and voltage monitor fail safe. The fire performance specification required 120 minutes integrity with a minimum of 60 minutes radiation at 15kw/m2 and a product that had third party approval from a notified body. The A1S Group has a choice of third party certification which further accredits our fifty plus fire and product tests, and in this case we used Warrington Certifier because of it’s high profile in KSA. Our manufacture lead time for the products was four weeks. The installation was very smooth and the A1S Group looks forward to further successful collaborations on a range of fire curtain, fire and smoke curtain, smoke curtain and fire shutter projects throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
